Um, whatever criticisms progressives might have, Clinton and Obama are far closer to each other on every issue than either is to any Republican. (I’ve never suggested otherwise.) Once the nominations are settled, any progressive ought to work enthusiastically for any Democrat — and any conservative ought to work enthusiastically for any Republican.

But there has certainly been talk that if Obama isn’t the nominee, some of his supporters might walk — I’m certainly seeing that in my mail. Anyway, stop it: if this is about anything besides cult of personality — or, in the case of Clinton-haters, cult of of anti-personality — you shouldn’t have even an instant’s hesitation about staying with your party, whoever is nominated.
