Iraq lost its WMD capabilities during the Clinton administration. Clinton&Gore chose something else than attacking or relenting. They disarmed and contained Saddam until Iraq was a shadow of its former military might.
Later Bush Jr. came along and started a war which will forever be a part of the American peoples history just like the Vietnam war is.

Gore says Iraq was a terrorist threat in this speech when he was running for Vice President but after he is no longer in power he states that Iraq never was a terroristic threat nor did Saddam Hussein have any terroristic ties. Somebody has a faulty memory or is it just selective memory where we only want to recall what fits into our perspectives or viewpoint. When Gore was seeking a position of power he found Iraq to be a threat. Once he got into power he somehow forgot how much Iraq was a terroristic threat.

Politics makes strange bed fellows and for that reason I find politics abhorrent and distasteful however; it is a necessary evil and one in which we must constantly monitor in order to reign in the abuses of power that so easily can overtake our elected leaders.

I happen to agree with Gore in this impassioned speech in which he spoke about the terroristic threats of Iraq under Saddam Hussein. Now that threat has been removed and his influence forever dealt with. Making sure there is a stable independently elected peaceful government in place is a sound foreign policy decision which I support.

Thanks Al for opening our eyes to the HORRORS of IRAQ and Saddam. OH wait you really did not want us to do anything about it did you?
