What if... Saddam was still in power. Would the Kurds and Turkey be going head to head? Turkey has proved to be correct in their reluctance to be dragged into something that could only bring grief. I have a thought that his may always have been some cliques' agenda as even the least fundamentalist American Christians or Zionist Jews would know that this northern Iraq conflict will inevitably play out.

Turkey's hope of joining the EU is, IMO, the one and only item preventing a full Turkish invasion of northern Iraq at this time. Bush has little influence now with Turkey's aims or ambitions.

Long term a full head-to-head with Israel is inevitable unless Israel reins in its territorial ambit...

I clipped this too, and while some things can be duplicates, there are other issues that need to be kept in the public eye. Very many of the news stories today deserve a number of people clipping them, because they are critical to a more informed view of the issues that are going to play a critical part in the decisions everyone makes with regard to their future. There are No countries any more. This War is over primeval issues, in which 'nationality' plays little part. This is the kind of war that if reason does not play a part, everyone will lose.

As a Turk i want to answer these questions that are were asked above. "What if... Saddam was still in power. Would the Kurds and Turkey be going head to head? "
The answer is quite easy NO. During 93-95 period Turkish government worked with Saddam and they fought against PKK together, because both governments had bad effects of PKK. Nowadays there is not a "real" government in Iraq. they are puppets of USA. Bush wants a satellite of USA and dependent administration in Iraq to control petrol reserves easily and have power in Middle East Area. This Kurdish guerillas' weapons are USA products and sold by American companies. everybody knows that without European countries' and USA support these ...

Why the hell should that make a difference in seeing the situation heating up? I'm neither one of those but I can smell your bigotry.

I'm the that asked the question, knowing the answer any Turk would give..."What if... Saddam was still in power. Would the Kurds and Turkey be going head to head? ", so I'm happy that we agree on that. I think it is to me that this is referring...
So my words are to people who look like modern and human rights supporters as a being member of European Union, stop being double-faced towards Turkey and interfere our national issues.
Most certainly I do understand the full complexities of the Kurd/Turkish problem. Rather than make unfounded accusations of me being double-faced towards Turkey, why not use this medium to put your point of view and not alienate us. Pleas...

Sahara, thanks for your comment. As Pokkets said, I believe there is no need to worry about duplicate clips at CM, because: 1. Every clip has its own selected portions of the source, so most of times, seemingly "duplicate" clips contribute to each other, 2. It's good for important issues and stories to be clipped by different clippers, in order to draw attention.

There are No countries any more. This War is over primeval issues, in which 'nationality' plays little part. This is the kind of war that if reason does not play a part, everyone will lose.
Well said Pokkets, I completely agree.

Why the hell should that make a difference in seeing the situation heating up? I...

First of all i want to mention that they are not Kurdish groups they are TERRORISTS. EU accepts IRA, ETA and RAF as a terrorist group accept PKK. I called these people double-faced because they seems supporting human rights and peace but on the other hand they support killers. Does it mean like that " i do not give permission to die any European individual but Middle Eastern people and Turks can die"??? Moreover we abolished execution and do not put into practice with Apo who was the head of PKK. Let's see what other modern European countries did. In Germany Baader Meinhof, founder of RAF,was found dead with a gunshot wound in the back of his head during her judgement. Her group friends Enssl...
