Stopping the heavy flow of illegal drugs into the country might be an even cheaper solution. The government has not tried this with any real effort as far as I know. The question is, who will profit from this, certainly not the junkies, homeless or the underemployed. And if we force people into treatment centers, will they be opportunities for living wage employment upon completion?.....Follow the money. they should at least legalize marijuana...it is a discrace for ppl to be put in jail just for smoking marijuana.from what i know it's non-toxic,thus no danger to the public(a marijuana user is no hostile&violent)&crimes such as stealing, attacking etc have never been reported.the only crime that occurs marijuana for the time beeing is that it is illegal...in most countries even a marijuana user is sentenced, just for having the small to tiny quantity of 2 grams-2 marijuana cigarettes-for personal use.taxes,on the other hand, for tobacco&alcohol which we all know their sequences,-like cancer&car accidents starring on their list- is a fact..making marijuana legal&taxable would help marijuana user... Putting people in jail is good for the prison business. They should at least stop enforcing the laws around pot that put the wrong people in jail.....But they won't. |
