After Muhammad's death, several collections of his deeds and sayings were collected to form the Hadith, which is the second most authoritative document is Islam, after the Koran.

The philologist "Christoph Luxenburg", (who always uses a pseudonym for security reasons) notes that grapes would actually make more sense, because the text compares them to crystal and pearls, and because contemporary accounts have paradise abounding with fruit, especially white grapes.

Was the Koran misinterpreted?
lol....ANY "holy book"" whose followers claim is written by "god" is already misinterpreted.

And yes, that includes Christianity.

Qu'ran was never in a book format during the time of Prophet Mohammad. It was compiled at the instruction of the third Caliph Uthman. Just do a google search on this.

This is going to make suicide bombing just a little bit harsher to take...

In heaven... "you mean... I don't get 72 virgins?"

God: "Nope. 72 white grapes. Now, on your knees and worship me forever... bwaah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, haaaa!"

talk about poetic justice!

I don't know a whole lot about Islam, but in the Old Testament and indeed still in Christianity, grapes have the metaphor of being the "fruit of the spirit". White grapes are considered a symbol of the purity of God's love for the people, and receiving them from God upon death would be a highest honor.
