The search for alternative fuels is becoming increasingly important. The rising oil prices may nudge these research programs to deliver faster and funds may need to be allocated. It is in the interet of the global community that such research is funded globally and no one tries the one -upmanship.

The question is: is there the necessary political will (wisdom?) to this?
