I have been trying to find a long lost friend of mine from school for about 20 years now. If anyone knows what happened to Theresa Blankenship - call me!

That in itself is not why I joined and participate in the Facebook Community. Facebook is an excellent tool for networking, keeping abreast of local community events, international charities, and sometimes just pure entertainment. It's no secret: I love my virtual pet, Kiku.

Recently, I have been adding "friends" that I went to high school with. I don't necessarily know these people personally, I just recognize their face, or remember their notoriety from the good ole days.

What's wrong with that? What's all the hubbub? If they do not want to connect, all they have to so is ignore the invite. I will not be crushed.

Each one of us has the responsibility to define our own social networking protocols. As for me, I think there is nothing wrong with meeting new people and sharing ideas and information. It's a good thing.
