Yeah, the price is whopper! Whoa! What a shame Christmas has just passed...but the mere thought of:

"You'll never touch or change litter again! "

Yay! And it's on sale! Double YAY! What a super duper, high-flying, blow-drying cat loo!! And it even looks like a real toilet! Ha ha ha... (well cats ARE just little furry people, so I reckon that's appropriate.) Thanks a ton for finding this futuristic fabuloso for me l1wulf! This is too cool! (Hubby's just gonna have work a little overtime...no biggie...) Happy New Year btw Wolfie!

And it's even got a GenieHand! (Whatever that is?) Now how many folks (or cats!) can get to say they have their very own GenieHand, eh??

HA!! Hubby's in the background and I just yelled out the total need for us to get this thingy and do know what he just said?!? GET TWO!!! Ha ha ha....

@nhorn
"Necessary" is totally not the point where cats are concerned. (You obviously still have a LOT to learn about cat freaks... *LOL*) If you only knew how much "unnecessary" stuff my kitty kids have already got, you'd just shake your head in disbelief, I'm telling ya!

Thanks again Wolfie! Great find!

It's 4 and 1/2 stars out of 5 TNCBT. One of our friends bought one of those litter boxes that automatically cleans the litter box; his cat refused to use it.
I have hardwood floors and I don't like the way most litter leaves powder cat tracks on the floor so I use Yesterday's News which doesn't have powder in it. But I change the box everyday by throwing out all the litter instead of scooping. Needless to say, my cats are spoiled.

Cats are never really spoiled debbyski, they're just catered to extensively...

I enjoy being catered to extensively myself.

Several months ago, frustrated with the expense and trouble of litterbox care, I looked into toilet training for cats. Seriously.
Haven't tried it yet, but here are three links I've saved in case I get the patience to give it a go and want to review the how-to's.
Citikitty
Cat Toilet Training Kit
Litter Kwitter (this one has such a funny pic on it that I will clip it after posting this comment)

After looking at the Genie link, (which has gotten pretty good reviews from folks who have bought it) there was another link that lead to another and so on, ending up at a toilet training technique and I've even still got a clip of it somewhere in the deep darks bowels of my saved clips, I reckon. I've been looking at the comments on the loo training kit thingies and they say pretty much that the Citykitty is junk because it's too flimsy and bends and so on and that the bigger one that will hold up to 25 lbs of cat can't have the rings put back in if you remove them too fast, so I'm trying to find one for bigger cats where the rings can be put back if necessary. Some of my cats aren't exact...

I just checked out the KittyTwitter one, it's looks fine! Sturdy, strong, replaceable rings and works for bigger cats too. I should perhaps try this first and wait with the high tech approach, but then perhaps it won't be on sale anymore. Decisions, decisions....hmm.

My concern, other than the initial $ outlay, for the auto-cleaning cat box is maintenance and paying for sanitary cartridges. If the unit breaks you are out a lot of money. Or if something goes wrong and the granules end up in your toilet. I worry about stuff like this.

Whereas if a cat is toilet trained the only problem will be a wet cat if she/he should fall in, and we all have had that happen to us at one time or another, haven't we? I'm still toying with going this route. It's more affordable. Still the potential disaster of litter getting into the toilet, though. And the prospect of several cats needing to be trained. Of course, if any of the cats were trained it would be a help. Hmmm. Will keep mulling this over.

Yeah, I'm mulling too. The difference in price is a definite consideration. As for the refill stuff for the Genie loo, I think you could use just about any kind of disinfectant, probably like the stuff I already use for their litterbox that's non-toxic to cats and that you can buy pretty much in any well-equipped pet store or retailer. I think the only thing is, it has to be some sort of cleaner that isn't too sudsy. I think I saw, you can buy refill granules, but I didn't check the price. That would be a running expense to think about too. We wouldn't be able to avoid losing some granules because some will without a doubt stick to the poo, so extra granules would be necessary. Septic tanks ...

I forgot to tell you gingembre, that you you can get a 100% natural cat litter made out of seaweed and pressed into pellets. It's very absorbant, doesn't smell at all like seaweed and the wet lumps are easily removed from the litterbox and can be flushed straight out in the loo. That would take care of those worries too about the litter they would scrape into the bowl using the potty training method. It's no more expensive than the bentonite litter I used to use and it's good for the environment too. You can even throw it onto your compost pile and reuse it that way too.
