This comes as no surprise to me. The entire time I was in Cairo I coughed, hacked and eye watered my way through each day. I asked my chain smoking friend why he bothered to smoke when he could just breathe the air. Worst pollution I personally have ever had to live through. Luckily enough I was able to escape by heading home, unlike most everyone else stuck there.

I've lived in Cairo for 10 months and planning another year. I've only been by a brick factory once, the smoke coming out of that thing .... I thought an entire block was on fire. When I pointed it out to my friend he grimaced and muttered, "bad factory." Air quality is worse in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I'll never forget The Daily Stair headline, "Poison In The Air." The culprit: brick factories.

I've never smoked cigarettes, and I've avoided shisha, but why the hell not since I'm getting 20 a day. Yeah, turkish coffee (medium) and apple flavored shisa at the outdoor patio of the Om Kolthoum Hotel coffee shop in Zamalek. Perhaps at sunset. LOL
