Red is the color of heat baby; and the green eyed red heads shake me down to my soul. I should know; my husband is a red head, and I've experienced that sizzle BTW, both my children do not have red hair although I always wanted a red headed child. One theory has it that red heads are the result of aliens visiting earth. Maybe their descendants are leaving and who could blame them - gone with the Adams' dolphins. ps lock up red headed husbands. lol HEY !!!!!! I'd be remiss if I didn't recall the SouthPark episode when Cartman thought he was a Ginger and made plans for all other non-ginger kids to be exterminated. Oh no, now i'm becoming extinct. Muahahahaha!!! Not trying to stereotype but in my experience I've never met a red headed child that wasn't a total brat and most (not all) red headed women I've met have serious attitude problems. On the other side, most if not all red headed men I have met are very quiet and reserved. The only reason I say it is that I wonder if there is something related physically between self confidence/attitude and red hair or if maybe people around here with red hair have had a rough life or something. Maybe I'll never know... djkraz, my daughter is a red head. I know she'd change your mind. She has excellent manners for a 4-year-old. She is very confident. Two male cousins are also red-headed as well as my brother-in-law and they are all exactly as you described above. Quiet and reserved. Interesting. Sounds like you are a great parent mousie. I think the problem with the red headed children I have met is that they are very confident as you say your child is but that confidence is not kept in balance by the parents of the children I know and therefore they are brats. One of the ones I know (7 year old) actually told his mom and dad to f*!k off and they didn't do anything about it. There are 2 others I know that just take what they want and nobody says anything to them. Anyway, back to the point, I wonder if there has ever been a study if red hair gives women confidence and men insecurity... I know a lot of redhead kids. Presumably, they'll grow up to be 60 or older. Also, presumably, a few of them might find each other and make some babies. It's a little early to call extinction, isn't it? Maybe in 1000 years... In my experience redheads do only what blonds dream of djkraz, I grew up across the street from a family with 7 red-heads, 8 counting the mom. They were all well-behaved, mature for their ages, excelled in school, and fun to be around. Your experience with the naughty children has nothing to do with their red hair. I know brunettes, blondes, and black headed kids who have terrible parents who don't teach them manners. It's the parents of those kids you spoke of who are to blame for their behavior. I agree with skiff, no less than 1000 years, if at all. I was married to an absolutely beautiful hazel eyed red haired woman for almost 25 years & other than her unfaithfulness she was a wonderful woman. Alanocu, I am not trying to stereotype as I said before, I am simply stating my experience which does not include any of the people you mentioned, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I also stated that the problems with the children are most likely due to bad parenting. However, I do think that in general red headed children are more confident (in my experience) and are more easily turned into bad children due to lack of good parenting which we have plenty of around here. The opposite should also be true then that a well parented red head should excel and it sounds like you have a perfect example of that dorine. I think kids will be kids, not matter what color their hair, and the possibility of such a unique quality becoming extinct only makes me appreciate them even more. michellezm great clip by the way I don't know about the US but in the UK there is some serious negative stereotyping of red heads or "ginger" as they call em. I never understood why ... personaly I have a bit of a soft spot for red haired girls. Famous Redheads looks like good company to me! (now Lindsay Lohan may have some catching up to do) sorry that url is...http://www.redandproud.com/famous%20redheads%20A-Z.htm im an Indian and i've never seen a redhead (except in movies) dunno wats up with you guys!!!! i dont understand how color of hair can influence how humans behave!!!! redhead or not redhead, i dont think it matters! its JUST ANOTHER COLOR!! as for the genetic proposition about redheads getting extinct AS EARLY AS 2060, its just a guess. based on probability. and history has shown dat scientists are usually wrong wen it comes to predicting things. hehehe (sorry if ur a scientist. Met the cutest 6 year old girl the other day. She had a perfectly oval face, pale skin, big green jewels for eyes and a head covered in deep copper-coloured curls. She was just gorgeous - a perfect little red-headed doll. Oh, they are beautiful!!!!!! That's the colour hair 'my' little girl had as well. Damn, now I'm all broody - and this is not good!!! I am not trying to stereotype as I said before, I am simply stating my experiencedear fellow clippers, don't you think djkraz, is standing on shaky ground by stating such potentially controversial comments on such topics...topics that sidegik would shoved into more appropriate scientific blogging sites...but not in clipmarks for fear of being 'booted out' ... but fellow info/science-hungry-clippers, don't you think that such comments/topics needs to surface for the advancement of our knowledge of science and in particular to this clip...for saving the extinction of the redheads...as we all know...knowledge is power... sidegik is not a professional researcher, but sidegi... 'red, white and blue...sidegik got cut off...over the 2k comment limit... ... 'red, white and blue...the stars are over you, mama said, papa said...i love You' ---an old nursery rhyme to carry the prediction a little further...sidegik thinks that there will be more newer redheads in the future, next 100 years, and due to global warming, stimulants, etc...blondes and brunettes genetic codes will switch into redhead genetic coding... "today's carriers are more prone to skin cancer and have a higher sensitivity to heat and cold-related pain." Oh God, we have to make sure this gene stays on our planet :S As a redhead, I've always found it weird that there is a bias against us. Then in doing reading about vampires I discovered some Eastern Europeans said that redheadedness was a surefire sign of vampirism. It is sad redheads are going extinct... I guess this makes my decision to hold out for a true redhaired wife either futile or heroic. If the gingers really want to save themselves they should move to Scotland. Oh goodness no! I have red undertones. Does that count? Seriously...red hair is so fascinating to me. My favorite actresses are reds...Julianne Moore is spectacular. I really hope the scientists are off the mark on this one. I will feel badly for a world who will never have enjoyed a brilliance of a redhead. I don't really see how with all of the red heads in the world, in 100 years there will be no redheads. I mean, maybe in a longer period of time it would happen, but I just don't see how it could happen that soon. Thank you Sidgik! I think you understand what I am saying. And trust me, I did think long and hard before posting my comments because I knew some people would take it the wrong way. However, the curiosity in me made me post the comment. I am very serious in wondering if there are some other traits that come along with red hair, good, bad or otherwise... I haven't heard anyone argue against my comment that the majority of red headed men being quiet and reserved. Again that is my experience though...has anyone else had the same experience? If so, then wouldn't you think there is a link there? And, maybe, just maybe, if red headed men are quiet and reserved and red headed women are conf... Wow, I did not know we were THAT rare!! I used to want to dye mine blond in high school but never touched it. the 2 would not fall for each other and in turn cause the red haired trait to go extinct? It would seem that it could take awhile because of the nature of recessive genes but eventually it could happen djkraz, you have had bad experience. My daughter married into a family of 8 siblings. Their father and 3 of the kids were redheads, including my son-in-law. Nicer people I have never met! |
