I never knew you could drag and drop pictures from Firefox directly to your desktop, or could just drag and drop the image into a new tab. Great way to grab pictures that you couldn't otherwise.

The joys of Drag and Drop - an innovation of the Mac OS back in Mac OS 7.5, dating back to 1995.

While I have become very accustomed to tabs, this is still useful even with them. When two browser windows are open one can drag a link from the first window into the second to have it open there. Very nice when running two or three monitors. Now Firefox allows one to drag links to existing tabs, which is also handy.

Try highlighting a block of text and then drag it to your desktop. In Mac OS, this creates a text-clipping, just a text snippet in the form of a "demi-document" one can only copy to the clipboard, another Mac OS-first feature, for use later wherever one wants by pasting it into a document, or by reading as Finder window.
