I had an email circulate just like this about the signs of a stroke and I took the time to read it and my mother called me when she has a stroke and because of that particular email, I was able to recognize the signs and get her help immediately. It and the clot busting drug saved her life

AND getting medical care at the hospital. My mother's stroke was almost 13 yrs. ago and she lay in the ER for almost 3 hrs. before she received any treatment....all the while the damage from the hemorrhage was increasing.

Prevention is the best option. Everyone check your blood pressure numbers periodically; especially as you get older. Not all strokes are caused by HBP, but most of them are. I'm on HBP meds and I'll never stop taking them. I've seen and cared for the damage strokes can cause.

The blood clot thinning drug Heparin does have a useful contribution to post-stroke hospital therapy.
I take baby aspirin every few days to keep the odds in my favor.
Another sign of stroke is a mail box full of doctors, hospital, radiology bills (ha ha).
