Every time I believe the right-wing nutters have reached their bottom when it comes to smear tactics, I find myself being shocked back into reality. Now we have Rush Limbaugh, Michellle Malkin, Mark Styne and Senator Mitch McConnell attacking a 12-year-old boy whose family made use of the schip program to help pay for the medical needs he and his sister incurred in a serious automobile accident. They accuse this child of lying for political reasons. This is the same kind of thing Limbaugh and his cronies did to Michael J. Fox when he campaigned for stem cell research, when Limbaugh claimed Mr. Fox was faking his symptoms in order to gain sympathy. Do these people have no feelings whatsoever? To smear a sick child for their own even sicker political purposes is beneath contempt.

Zasel, What exactly are you objecting to. A family fraudulently sponging off the tax-payers or those trying to protect the program to serve the poor, not free-loaders that CHOSE not to self-insure themselves.

I think the crucial point is that this child was used by the Democrats as propaganda. The Dems are the ones responsible for the current bill being vetoed. This child was still able to use the program and many other children are still able to use the program.
So, what is the problem? Are you so bigoted against the poor in this country that you think they only exist to expand programs to those that do not need them.

It is time to stand up for those less fortunate in this country ...

Willhelm, my friend, I cannot even bring myself to reply to your comment. I am too disgusted by the entire event, and that someone with whom I communicate would try to defend the actions taken against them.

All I can do is thank you for taking the time to comment on my clip.

Zasel, the reason the bill was vetoed was not because of the program. it was vetoed because the definition of "child" was set at 25 years old and the definition of poor was set at $80,000/yr.

The bill is going to continue in it's regular form when the Socialist Progressives quit using the poor to advance a wasteful agenda which does nothing but set this program up for further abuse..

What you seem to miss is that the child in the article was on the program, is on the program, and will continue to be covered on the program.

So, I ask you, what are you disgusted about?

Is it that someone else has a different opinion than you?

I am just curious.

Willhelm, I have learned through the years that there are those people who really DO want to discuss issues, and then their are those who wish to just throw-up the same claptrap that is regurgitated constantly ad nauseum on the Internet et al. Everyone who does not agree with the right-wingers are socialists out to destroy the precious free market of America which should always have the right to run rampant without any controls whatsoever. If you believe this, that's you're right.

They shlep out wounded war veterans, a la Arie Fleisher and use them as pawns for their political advertising and then lambaste a 12 year- old- child who is talking about how Schip has helped his family. In other...

Not to mention that whether you agree that the kids (both of them) should receive these benefits (or go bankrupt in the process), the idea of posting the child's home and the father's office on the internet is wrong, considering all the yahoos and bullies out there.

I do not believe that. A quick survey of my clips will clearly show that I do not engage in the hateful rhetoric of you and Debbyski. Please, Have a look!

Your curiosity about my feelings behind this "event", will just have to go unsatisfied.
It seems to me that by your rant you are just deflecting. I am just seeking, AS I ALWAYS DO DESPITE YOUR RHETORIC, a POINT of CLARITY.

back to subject, what does a 12 year old know about politics? He knows this program has helped his family and can help more families. That's all. That does not make the kid fair game , leave the kid alone.

Exactly right. I did not allude to the fact she is weak and inferior, she did by saying I am just picking on her because she is a woman.
Perhaps you need to look up the word bigot and get to know me a little a better before you reveal YOUR bigoted tendencies.

Zasel, I am really interested to know what you have against the schip program. Is it because it is a Republican program? Bush wants to increase the program by 4 billion. That is more than the Dems wanted. I really want to know what you are disgusted about. Please tell me. But, leave me and us hate-mongering Conservatives out of it.

attacking a 12-year-old boy
Show me anywhere any of those people attacked the 12 YEAR OLD BOY!!! And DON'T LIE ! The leftists have a new, repeating template of reacting when they CANNOT answer the charges made.They/YOU have taken to falsely charging opponents as having smeared and attacked innocent victims. The truth being that the leftists have first made a victim of the individuals in question;then others expose that victimization; followed by le...

Willie and Davboz, I really want to thank you for commenting on my clips. It seems that there is just no end to your vitriolic anger, but you are not going to get me into it. I have said what I have to say. Now, please, be my guest and say anything you wish, as long as it is not personally insulting. I have expressed my opinion. You certainly have the right to express yours. But hostile challenges and accusing me of lying, just ain't the way I play. So, please, continue to fling mud if you wish, but I have no intention of saying another word to either of you due to your negative and personally insulting attitude.

I don't think I have accused you of anything. I am just asking your opinion. You said you have given it, but you haven't. You have only emoted - Thats not an opinion. I just want to understand what you have against this program. If you see that SIMPLE question as a "challenge", then perhaps you should re-think your stance.

Can we not even come to terms on a point of difference without your accusations? Please?

Ok Willie, I will, in fairness you must remember I was not even referring to my reasons for supporting the program, but I was incensed by the way the right chose to jump on this kid and his family by claiming to dig up information about them that has been proven to be false. The father does not own a highly profitable business. They do not have an income near what was claimed, and the kids are not going to outrageously expensive private schools paid for by the wealth of the family. Some on the right, have the tendency to hit first without checking their facts, just to make their point and hope the smear tactics will work. Lately, as you probably have noticed, thankfully, these tactics are f...

OH. OK. So, you are mired in the politics of the situation rather than the facts of it. I see. Perhaps you might want to obtain more objective sources to work your way through the propaganda. The fact, and it is not even disputed by the Dems, is that this child was coached and given a script. Also, What you say is not true is, in fact, absolutely true. The father admitted that he CHOSE not to acquire health insurance. That was risk he CHOSE to expose his family to. He admitted he could afford health insurance. He owns a home and a business property. He sends his child to private school. Why is public education below him, but not public health-care?

It seems to me we agree on this plan. H...

Okee doke. I had my say you had yours, I still disagree with you, and that is that. You can say what you will about why the left hoped Bush would veto the bill, and all the other right-wing stuff and talking points you wish. And I know you believe I am doing the same thing. So, I am perfectly willing to agree to disagree on this matter and move on.

Well, you're wrong on 2 points. 1. I do not believe you are spouting talking points. I simpl;y believe you are uninformed and too politically wrapped up to actually look at the facts objectively, or at least get muliple sources to obtain a more vivid view of the situation, and
2. I am not spouting talking points. I would not even know how to subscribe to them. I am simply stating facts and representing how I see the facts. Don't pain't my views with the brush of politicization - that is bigotry, donchuknow.

Willie, I apologize if I mis-characterized your comments as politicized. As a disabled person, I spend a great deal of time listening and watching the news and reading all kinds of various publications both on and off line. It gets to the point that I am exposed to just about every line of thinking and disagreement that exists and I become somewhat hardened to having to explain myself in detail every time I form an opinion.

There are certain trigger words and expressions that get to me, and when you, or anyone else start telling me about typical left leaning mechanisms for manipulating opinions and then always fail to acknowledge the horrendous things the right has done and continues to d...

That's ok, Zasel. I do not fault you. I was just wanting us to come to some point of clarity. You certainly could change my mind. I hope I would be able to change yours, if facts permit.
