It seems though, at face value without having read the bill, that there's nothing evil in having any and all candidates present a birth certificate for qualification. All it does is reinforce constitutional intent. It is hardly an onerous demand. Can't get a passport without one, the office of president shouldn't be different.

It's just that bringing up such a bill at this particular juncture in time is an obvious ploy by the right wing to throw a bone to the birther nutjobs and let them know "I'm with you" while putting up ones hands to the general public and saying "I'm not a birther nutjob".

At a time when there are still Americans who believe Barrack Obama is not a native born American, this is not a purely intentioned bill to introduce.
