</P><P>11月底有消息稱，Google將推出網路存儲服務，允許用戶將本地電腦中的文件存儲在Google的伺服器上。該服務為免費提供，但如果付費，用戶可獲得更大的存儲空間。

</P><P>對此，iSuppli高級分析師Krishna Chander認為，與希捷等硬盤製造商相比，提供虛擬硬盤服務的利潤更加可觀。對用戶而言，該服務是十分實用的；對Google而言，也是極具誘惑力的。

</P><P>目前，雅虎和微軟等科技也都提供了網路存儲服務，但大部分無法滿足企業個人的需求。而且，存儲空間也只有5G左右。但Chander預計，Google將免費提供高達50G的存儲空間。

</P><P>通過在存儲服務網站上銷售廣告，Google即可大賺一筆。Chander預計，將有420萬用戶部署Google的線上存儲服務。假設Google每年從每位用戶身上獲取50美元的廣告營收，那麼每年的營收就高達2.1億美元。

</P><P>至於Google的成本，Chander表示，每GB的費用約為25美分。Google需要部署210,000TB的存儲空間，其成本約為5250萬美元。
