This is a terribly sad story but I wonder why it is in the New York Times. Sadly, this happens quite often. There seems to be the correlation made that this domestic violence is the result of military experience. If I am not mistaken, it seems to be the case that more children die as a result of abuse from their mothers.
If there are military triggers that make these issues more prominent in military families, then I certainly believe we should offer more assistance and help to these military men and women. It seems to me though that we often see these biased assumptions refuted.
