I'll pass as well. Really don't want to spend my days in an alternate reality - I already do too much of that at work. Besides, if I had chips in me, my software would surely end up corrupted. Reboot Reboot Reboot.

It's not about immortality; they already have that. It's about perishability; how to house "immortality" in a Perfectly Integrated Structure-Function-Relationship Cyborg (SFR) that will permit them to get out of here before, for want of better words, "THE END."

well i don't know, we're not flying to and from our jobs in our own personal aircraft yet....i don't think i'm gonna hold my breath.

The human body, like all creatures, is designed to reproduce itself and provide a "start" for it's offspring.
As for cyborgs and immortality, the planet is overcrowded now ( going on the number of people who are starving ).
Some will be tried, just for money.
I wouldn't begin to want immortality if the mum-in-law was.

There is no life without death as there is no day without night.

This kind of "progress" is only for the very wealthy.
It will never be financially available for "regular" people, if only because of the lack of resources on this planet to support a large population of "immortals". Just imagine the kind of power that a group of wealthy and powerful immortals would be able to wield over future generations.
