They say the recipient doesn't end up look like the donor, because the bone structure of their faces are not the same and the new face lays on top of mould into the shape of the new owner. There has got to be certain similarities though, for sure.

The first full-face transplant could be less than a year away, a leading
surgeon predicted today after the most complete version of the operation yet
was performed in the United States.
