I'm watching the HBO series "From Earth to the Moon" the last few days and it's absolutely breathtaking to consider how many sacrifices were done by a relatively small group of insanely intelligent, dedicated and selfless people who paved the path, where in a 50-year span we can now enjoy the beautiful photos clipped here. Pretty amazing. In another clip egoldstein was asking about role models - I can't imagine too many people to be better role models than the original astronauts, although they'd certainly disagree with me on that, and that's another reason they qualify unquestionably. They're certainly under-appreciated in our society and relatively unknown, compared to some that are known and shouldn't be.
