I was just thinking about this issue a day or so ago while checking yet again on some blogs that I like to read and finding that they continue to lack new posts after many months. Have these bloggers just lost interest in posting, are they too ill to write, or have they died? If dead, how long will their blogs continue to exist in cyberspace, mysteriously silent? What will happen to my own blogs when I'm gone? Morbid thoughts, perhaps, but valid ones. One Australian blogger I follow stated that he has arranged for his son to place his final post so that people will know that he has died. This LifeStatus badge may be a useful alternative for those without a trusted friend or relative t... I was thinking about this too. I have at least one dead person on my AIM buddy list, who mysteriously appears to be logged in from time to time. I have no idea why or how. I've also visited the Facebook pages of various dead people and noticed that they continue to get wall posts and so forth. It's strange. |
