I can't tell you how many times as a kid and as teenager I came home from the beach or the lake beet red, with a blistering sunburn. (The kind so bad it then peels for days - yuck).
It wasn't until I was an adult that I learned how sun exposure as a child can be a prefactor to adult skin cancer. (NOW they tell me).
