I'd be curious to know if the Korean government paid a ransom for them to be freed, since Korean officials were 'negotiating' or 'talking' with the Taliban which resulted in their release.

The Korean government paid the biggest bribe of all - they agreed to bring all their military home from Afganistan. It would be nice to think that once these people got back to safety the ROK government would tell these extortioners to go suck eggs, but we know they won't.
