Gross. Oliver Stone and Chavez need to get a room. I support Chavez’s desire to remain independent of international coporations and no country should be bullied by U.S. policy. However, I believe Mr. Stone is being misled and stubbornly naïve in his support of Chavez. He remarks that Chavez remains popular and keeps getting elected, of course he keeps getting elected, he keep changing the constitution so he can get re-elected. Evidently, Mr. Stone supports this sort of thing. I suppose Mr. Stone thinks the outflow of the brain trust that is taking place in Venezuela is unfair as well. http://www.robertamsterdam.com/venezuela/2009/07/venezuelas_brain_drain.htm Chavez has destroyed free press by silencing his media critics, perhaps Mr. Sto... Everyone knows better that the Venezuelans themselves. We just can't let them be, gotta have our fingers in every pie. Gotta be the "Big Brother". But it's Divine Providence! We are morally superior and more civilized than them "darkies" down there....Get a life, would ya?!? Don't know why Stone was kissing up to Bush in "W". But he did a great job on the JFK movie. |
