In our favourite taverna 'Michaeli's' in Kalamata we used to attend musical evenings with an extended family of about forty souls, children included. Towards the end of the evening a grandmother would take round the room a box, about nine inches long and opened the lid to show the contents to each in turn. Much laughter always followed.
