For-profit management of schools has, for the past fifteen years or so, been touted as the "fix" for school systems (particularly in urban areas) that have failed in their given mandate and mission of educating our children. As a business model, Educational Management Organizations have not done very well. Now, NCLB is breathing new life into these companies.
