Getting guns out of the homes is a good start, so the kids can't find them to take to school.

The idea is to end violence that is used by teachers too Darkeforce. We have had a number of young girls raped by very young boys in the past days here in Spain. Something is seriously wrong with peoples values these days.

It isn't that I don't think that violence is UNACCEPTABLE in schools..........or at home, or in bowling alley's...............anywhere!!!!! but what happened to the concept of parental control..........and parental involvement in what their children are doing.....at all times, in all cases. Have we lost something?????

Very true. A large part of the problem with students committing violence against other students is that parents aren't taking responsibility for their own kids, to make sure that they learn to be responsible and social people, to make sure that the kids fear the results of breaking the rules so they will learn proper respect for rules.

This is only half of the problem mentioned in this clip, yes. Education reform is needed as well, but making sure that your kids aren't part of the violence problem is the responsibility of every single parent on the planet. When parents fall down on the job, someone else ends up suffering.

This philosophy that we should only give love to our kids is fine if we also control what they do and don't consider loving them as allowing them to do anything they feel like doing without repercussions if they misbehave.

Children must be educated to be respectful and responsible and know that if they get something it is because they deserve it and not because we give something to them to cover our guilty conscience.

I agree that parents are responsible for children's education but schools are also responsible for preventing violence by teachers and bullying by children and that was what this clip was all about.
