#4 - is he texting? ahah #1A - Mormon Camel-toe i've done the kaporot when i was younger, its very strange (number 4). i believe its for passover (if i remember correct), you rid your sins by holding the live chicken- saying some prayers- and then you spin it over your head three times while chanting stuff in hebrew.... they usually donate the birds or money (you can use money equal to a chicken's cost if you dont want to use a chicken) to charity at least (not allowed to eat the bird once it's retained your sins....) strange shit. i'd say runner up is the theno meter for scientology... so wierd not as weird as blowing yourself up or bombing innocent people Almost any religious ritual, expression or symbol seems ridiculous when stripped of its spiritual and metaphorical context. How about turning a piece of flat bread into human flesh and performing a symbolic act of cannibalism? If the Romans had had a technically advanced civilization, would millions of people be wearing little gold electric chair pendants? What about snake handlers? The list goes on and on... Hindu Dowry "Money or property brought by a bride to her husband at marriage" is not a religious practice rather a social one(a social evil so to say). However it is banned by law in India and is a crime to demand or accept dowry. |
