These are not reasonable objectives. Half the countries around the world are not able to defend themselves.

This infers defending from outside its borders. I only know of wars from within - not any country attacking another, except the US attacking countries!

Yeah, we are such a horrible country...blah...blah. That's why millions of people apply for citizenship....because they want to live in this Empire with Darth Vader roaming around with his light saber. This Empire's Constitution is older than yours so we must be doing something right. Anywho, when GWB is out, everybody will calm down and start singing Kumbaya again and we'll be one big happy planet.

He stated that we were fighting for national interest, including region's "importance to the global economy." (In my mind, a stunning admission of the true motives behind this war.)
He stated that they were trying to achieve a country that is "at peace with itself and its neighbors," "could defend itself" that was "reasonably representative of and broadly responsive to its citizens."
