I suppose I was proving Obama's point about who's Christianity is to be taught in school. To me the contridictions about the treatment of strangers, soujourner, and slavery point to a couple of New Testament qoutes:

8He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

To put it plainly what went into the Bible was a compromise between God and his prophets over what people could understand and or accept.
