I just don't understand why nursing a baby is so offensive. The mother said she was being discreet but the article stated that she refused an additional blanket by airline personnel. I think being discreet is the polite way to go and you can do that (nurse discreetly) without smothering the baby under a huge blanket. When's the last time any adult had to eat his lunch with a huge blanket on his/her head?

Now you know what it's like to be me (to a degree), Goldstein--humor taken seriously, seriousness taken as comedic.

So what would have happened on the plane if the women did not feed the baby and the baby freaks out crying becuase of hunger. Perhaps the airline people would tell the mother to silience the baby and when she could not, they would have to take the plane to the nearest airport, call the FBI and arrest mother and child for causing a disturbance?

Oh, my mistake, if a person (sounds like only the stewardess was offended?) didn't want to see it, the offending mother should be chucked off the plane, drawn and quartered. Oooh! Sorry, I was a bit confused for a second. It all makes sense now!
