disenchantedcitizen says: First of all, I have to admit Sarah Palin did show some class in her thoughts on the passing of Ted Kennedy. But her followers, well, that’s a different story. It is no surprise that there are people who hated everything Ted Kennedy stood for. But to express this kind of hate upon learning he died is crass and graceless. One commenter said: "Now if we could just talk God into taking Arlin Spector, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi America would be Eutopia!" Unbelievable. A person died people. Take a break, go to your corners, show some class, and then come out swinging. Is it asking for too much to expect some civility towards the family? After all he was a fellow American doing what he thought was right for this county. I hate what Bush and company did to this country but I would not wish them dead. Maybe I’m being crass for bringing it up, but I’m preparing for the hate for standing up for him, I was no big fan of this guy after what he did to Mary Jo Kopekne and got Stay? Many believed that Sen. Kennedy got away with murder. I am one of them. I disliked his polices, his perceived tactics, the conduct of his personal life, his attacks on political opponents, etc.... However, I don't know all the facts! I would not wish cancer/dying on any human being...except maybe Bin Laden and Hussein. Ex-gov. Palin expressed her proper sympathy as do I. He belongs to history now and his legacy will follow him...both the good and the ugly. People will pick up and move on. We are but a vapor, a breath in life. We should all...on both sides of the political aisle, consider the motivations of our hearts and the ramifications of our ideas, our power, and our deeds. I wouldn't wish Bush et al. dead, just convicted of the treason they committed and then hung as appropriate, receiving their just rewards, not merely my personal whimsy for my distaste for them. There's a difference. Is that really the best you can find? Some people (who could have just as easily been posting to embarrass Palin) saying a few little things like that? I mean it isn't like they were main stream bloggers saying things like: "See You In Hell: Ted Kennedy Finally Dead." "Ted Kennedy was apparently still alive, and now he’s dead, hooray! He was a sour troll and a bigot, and it’s a testament to every rotten thing about this country that for a quarter century, he was one of the most powerful people in American politics." "Ted Kennedy, American Garbage." he died "25 years too late," and he was "a mean little troll whose heart was so wrecked by wickedness that doctors had to patch it up with co... Ted Kennedy did more for human rights than any pathetic Right-Winger has done in the past century. He helped shape America into the marginally moral society it is now. If any of you are women; without Ted Kennedy, the only jobs you would be able to get now would be secretaries, nurses and seamstresses. Kennedy opened the door for women having equal rights in the workplace. Ted Kennedy was human, and had his faults, but he did so much good that it's no wonder the NeoCon Rats in the Right Wing tried so hard to paint him as some kind of monster. I'd personally take a congress full of Ted Kennedys before I'd take a congress full of Sarah Palins, or even Nancy Pelosis. To cheer at him, or anyo... Jatfla, I agree. Bear, absolutely. n2sooners, you are correct, these comments could have been posted by someone trying to embarrass Palin, but something tells me that is not the case. We all know there is no shortage of hate from both conservatives and liberals. The list you present being attributed to Jesse Helms further confirms this. Darkeforce, I agree. darkeforce All Kennedy did was all but Guaranteed that the best and brightest didn't get the jobs deserved to them. The jobs became handouts to anyone who was not a white male... So even when the best person for the job may have been a minority the job appeared to be a handout modified welfare. Because liberials believe that minorities just can't make it with out white people giving them a leg up. No, he guaranteed that the best and brightest got the job, regardless of their gender or skin colour, because the Old Boy Network of industry wasn't going to hire on merits that didn't include being a White Male without someone stepping in. |
