Why won't the Indonesian government do anything about it i?

Last I read, Madagascar had one of the most biologically diverse jungles in the world- now 92% is gone. It's sad, but I think that in some underdeveloped countries, the immediate need of feeding the population outweighs the greater good of saving the planet.
