Hitler was not an atheist, he was a Catholic and had close ties with the Pope until it became embarrassing for the Pope.

Welcome to the gang jatfla. No compulsion though.
Like many Catholics, he was not a happy one.
There is also a story about the Pope of the time encouraging Hitler to smash Britain to pay them back for going Protestant. Probably not true , but a great story.
