Cripes. I guess I'll go back for that EE degree so I don't wind up in a gulag. Ok, Everyone tear apart their computers! Karl Rove knows your Clipmarks password. and he'll be leaking it to valerie any time now... Please take a look at http://www.snopes.com/computer/internet/dellbug.asp before you freak out. JCFOSTER to the rescue! Snopes should be bookmarked ..er, um CLIPMARKED by everyone as the first go-to resource for "Can you believe THIS?" stories (Including email hoaxes, urban legends, chain letters, etc.) The last thing Clipmarks needs is to propagate (i.e., use up bandwidth, storage space) or mislead readers with false information. [ / end my two cents ] "Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear." Ditto Neadfiles; Snopes is the first place I run iffy news through. I also receive their newsletters. This was on Digg a few days ago. Judging by the comments there (at Digg), this was found to be a hoax. And now we have confirmation. But why do we have so many pops on this? Is there a way to unpop even if you have not popped it? j/k of course, but I really hate these hoax emails. urban legend strikes again I popped it as a good example of a hoax/urban legend. I popped it, but I didn't inhale. |
