Hmm...even if it could, I'm not so sure the value of at least my life, would improve. Hope keeps us going. If I knew in advance what was to be (for positive sure) I might just give up. Also things like this could cause mass hysteria, suicide, panic,and horrible violence against each other. Movies like Last Holiday, and others, I don't care to name, would probably become true to life, because everyone who believed that doom was was inevitable, and there would be no consequences, could go out and do whatever they felt like, with no worries of punishment. In general, life would have no meaning. I like having my belief system, the way it is set up now. What is life without hope? Not much, I say...
