Jeffro2pt0 says: When you stop to think about it, he's right. I love my RSS. I find the best way to describe these technologies is just say what you can do with them I don't understand all the technical details but I use them and learn from what other people explain on the net Yeah, that may be the best way of explaining these technologies is simply what they do, minus how they actually work. I like google's feature of adding RSS feeds to my iGoogle start page I've been thinking about creating my own start page but I'm not sure if I want to use iGoogle, PageFlakes, Netvibes ect. I use netvibes my emails are there ,clipmarks live clips stumbleupon buzz, maps, weather, calender, webnote pretty much any rss feed and there are plenty of aspects I haven't explored ,very good for clipping material. I have 2 start pages. The only way I can explain RSS in a way that understandable is if I can sit someone down in front of my computer and show them how I use it and how easy it is. I bet it will be another year, even more, before people really start to pick it up. Frustrating, it such an easier way to consume information. Whats interesting to me is that you can ask 20 random people who you don't know, a web 2.0 question such as do you know such and such company, or do you know what this company does or that company and I bet you almost 1-3 out of 20 random people will have no clue. Whats interesting to me is that this period of time known as web 2.0 seems to be an online only culture thing. |
