Wing suits are not new; they have captured the imagination of storytellers since man dreamed of flying. From Icarus to Wile E. Coyote, who crashed into a mesa on his attempt, the results have usually been disastrous.

“Everybody wants to be the first one to do it,” Mr. Haggard said.
Which leads to an obvious and inevitable question: Why?
“Because
everybody thinks that it’s not possible,” Mr. Corliss said. “The point
is to show people anything can be done. If you want to do amazing
things, then you have to take amazing risks.”

Deepti, great link. As it says:

The first part is easy. All it requires is simply the ability to throw yourself
forward with all your weight, and the willingness not to mind that it's going
to hurt.

That is, it's going to hurt if you fail to miss the ground. Most people fail
to miss the ground, and if they are really trying properly, the likelihood is
that they will fail to miss it fairly hard.

thx!

The flying suit looks great. It might even work. One major flaw though - where's the handbrake?

Right

Heard about the guy who fell off a skyscraper? On his way down past
each floor, he kept saying to reassure himself: So far so good... so
far so good... so far so good. How you fall doesn't matter. It's how
you land!
