Some eyewitnesses said they saw something drop from the balloon while it was still in the air, but the ground search had yet to turn up the boy as of Thursday evening.

Cathy Davis of the Larimer County Sheriff's Department told reporters the balloon was owned by the boy's parents and tethered behind the family's home. She said two sons were playing outside when the older boy saw the younger one go into a compartment at the bottom of the balloon and fly away.

Falcon Heene found alive, was never inside inside balloon

His brothers initially told officials that Falcon climbed into the basket attached to the saucer and, somehow, the rope holding the contraption in place became untied around 11:00 a.m.

Authorities say the balloon may have risen to an elevation of approximately 15,000 feet as it drifted over Colorado's eastern plains. Around 1:40 p.m., it crashed into an open field near 160th Ave. & County Road 79 in Adams County, approximately 50 miles southeast from where it first took flight.

During a news conference outside the family's home at 4 p.m. local time, Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden announced that Heene was located, alive ...

So...just asking. How is the "Wife Swap" angle an angle? AND is this type of TV junk helpful to families? It probably played no part in this event...so why the news? And...what will people do to gain attention?
