I'm glad you clipped this, just last night I made a comment on this. Now Bush has no choice but to start bringing home the troops, and if he veto's this bill, then he gets nothing. I just hope members of congress stands firm on this like they said yesterday, If so it will be the first step of bringing home our hero's. pop "....largely a symbolic jab at Bush, who already has begun reducing force levels but opposes a congressionally mandated timetable on the war." That's the sad/good part. It's 'symbolic', meaning that it's never going to happen and the pork attached isn't going to make it either, and that this Congress has invested the entire year to a *political* 'jab' instead of focusing on other much-needed legislation. Plus, now that the surge has begun to succeed, some of the troops are already preparing to come home. Oh, and isn't it time for Congress to go home? Let there be peace in the world! The surge succeeding, not likely. |
