Ahmadinejad is a lunatic who is planning to bring the "Madhi" back to bring "peace" to the world. I'll be surprised if Israel doesn't strike before the end of the year. When they do get ready for the condemnation to commence by our allies, our enemies (including the UN) basically the whole world. Go Israel! It might not be so simple. Iran is not like Iraq. This is a much more complicated situation with Turkey, Russia, Syria, Oil markets, The US economy, Pakistan, and success in Iraq and Afghanistan all in the balance. I suspect hardcore Neo-cons are chomping at the bit to "advance democracy", but I think they are playing with fire. We could have crushed Iran economically. Why haven't we? The Iranian population is not anti-American, but we seem intent on making them so. Any attack either by Iran or on Iran will disrupt the oil suppy somewhat, for how long who knows. A nuclear Iran on the other hand would be unthinkable with their leadership. I sympathize with the Iranians who live under the conditions they do in that country. It would be nice if they could open under new management but I doubt that happening any time soon. It also would be nice if the UN could force Iran into giving up their centrifuges by way of economic sanctions which probablly would work if all member nations complied with sanctions. Iran is a non win situation, either the world knuckles under to them, allows them to obtain nukes and wait for that inevitable mushroom clo... |
