Spot on!. Excellent quote. Thanks Remember he was a good author but an ardent socialist. Most of his ideas about the "utopia" society, like the one in "Grapes of Wrath" with regards to farmers and farm laborers, would never really work in today's society and economy. It might have worked in the beginning of the US history but not now. Then Steinbeck being an ardent socialist certainly was in good company as so was Jesus Christ. But not in mind and body Socratoad. Jesus also preached free will. Jesus preached the gospel "good news" in Greek, but did not force anyone to make the decision. He lead by example and not force. Most socialists societies like Canada (lite socialism) to Venezuela (hard socialism- i.e Hugo Chavez) take control of the people and government, a system of cradle to the grave mentality. Jesus was nothing like that according to the Bible. He would not EVER force someone to think a certain way. He may confront you with it, tell you, you are in sin, and the possible consequences if one does not ask for forgiveness, but Jesus did it in a loving way, not a forceful way. In the end Jesus was not a true socialists. Socratoad probably thinks Che is a great american hero Whereas Rygar probably thinks Ollie (the psychopath) North was, and is a great American hero. LOL My comment wasnt as serious as it looks in writing |
