This is a major issue in our country because it gives us a false sense of success and financial security while so many of us wind up bankrupt or worse. If you or I tried to enforce usury like this in a legal contract, we would be put in prison. The Maxed Out movie should be great, and I can't wait to see it. This in itself is a clear sign the rest of the general public won't be interested. While there is only a single reference in the clipped article, Universal Default is among the most horrible of practices in the credit card industry. I'm just waiting for some conservative to somehow spin a defense of the banking industry and its morally corrupt practices. |
