A nice idea but people live in a tiny time scale and a tiny capsule of self-interest as far as significant behaviour goes (although their fine words seem to belie this).

You are right, of course. But...maybe time is coming for us to leave this tiny capsule and to start driving something bigger and even more beautiful and exciting. We have to believe it is possible for us; we have to KNOW it is possible for us - quantum leap of consciousness of human race.

I don't think so. I really, really want to be wrong about this. I fear time has just about run out for this little 3rd rock from the sun.
But like I said, I want to be wrong.

I agree with kappy. Loss of the natural environment, the oceans are nearing collapse, species eradication, overpopulation, pollution, the list is endless. I also sense we're running out of time and fast. Worst of all is Man's unwillingness to face it and therefore, to fix it. I think that bubble of self interest people live in, is going to be incredibly hard to burst, if at all.
