Click on the link and view the embedded video to gain an awareness of the total wackiness of these people. Make no mistake about it, these people are intent on making this a Christian Nation. And if your "brand" of Christianity doesn't conform with what they deem appropriate you're as much on the outside as any non-believer. Maybe those depicted in the video are not of the Fred Phelps ilk, they are much more of a danger because of their numbers and organizational influence in politics.

You've been warned!

I live near Colorado Springs. I fully agree with AtlLiberal - many of these people are SCARY. You have to wonder if the God they follow is really the God of Christianity. I don't believe the God of Christianity would truly ask them to support the actions they do and plan.

Make them pay taxes if they want to be involved in politics.

From my point of view it doesn't matter. The problem is where they view their morality coming from. Religion, IMO, is a poor choice to depend on as the sole source for morality. Could parts of the bible be used as a moral compass? Of course. Are parts of the bible filled with immoral acts and outdated thinking? Without a doubt.

The problem is religion is dogma and resists change. And contrary to opinion, our morality does change over time. And as an atheist, the whole idea of eternal punishment is so hideously immoral that to use a world view that embraces this concept is suspect to say the least.

Isn't Colorado Springs the seat of the Air Force Academy?

Yep. It seems this area has more than their share of over saturation of religiosity. I vividly recall the brouhaha over the proselytizing at the Academy. I've never been there, but on the surface it appears to be a very conservative place.

Why so glum, ratilfar? We'll at least have the opportunity to check out the whole "rapture" thing. Think positively!
