Try Romans for a starter:

(Rom 1:22) Professing to be wise, they became fools,

(Rom 1:23) and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

(Rom 1:24) Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,

(Rom 1:25) who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

(Rom 1:26) For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

(Rom 1:27) Likewise also the men, leavi...

Only one of those may be interpreted as dealing with homosexuality, the rest, not so much.

Where do you get your interpretations anyway?

Who, for crying out loud, gives a rat's ass what the bible says about ANYTHING?

Inaccurate, myth based, inconsistent, incoherent, antiquarian, nonsense. Why is ANYONE using this trash to justify anything?

Honestly, I think you'd get more moral value from reading a phonebook or the back of cereal box, both of which contain undeniable fragments of fact, unlike the collected scribbles of ignorant, desert wandering yahoos.

It is, first and foremost, the vehicle by which the ignorant are deprived of their money, and second, the tool used to subordinate anyone with whom the zealot disagrees. Pure tripe.

Jay,

You are ignoring the silence of Jesus about homosexuality. Do you think if it was such a sin then Jesus wouldn't have given us a clear unmistakable message about it? Do you think it just slipped his mind?

If you believe in taking the Bible literally, you can't just pick out some verses and say, this one's sll valid, but not the rest of them. Do you really believe children who cuss out their parents should be put to death?

You can't please God by refusing to love some of His children just because they are different from you. Neither can you play God by saying that some people are better than others. Any person of faith who does so is just kidding himself. And any church that does so is doomed to fail.

A couple more links you might find interesting/useful:

Real Live Preacher: What the Bible really says about homosexuality:
The scriptural witness on this subject is shaky at best.
Real Live Preacher: Why the Preacher doesn't condemn homosexual people – and you shouldn't either:
Sit down Christian. You cannot wave your unread Bible and scare me because I know the larger story that runs through it beginning to end. I'm trying to resist the temptation to snatch it from your hands and beat you with it. I am your worst ni...

Debby, concerning Jesus' silence concerning homosexuality, He said: Mat 5:28 "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. "
Now, if that is condemned, must He say more concerning lustfully looking at someone of the same sex?

To you others: I did not interpret anything. The text is straight from the Bible. What do you think it says?

The Bible claims itself to be the Word of God. It says it is 'God breathed". The compilations of the books of the Bible are by one author, God.

Laugh at it, ignore it, make little of it. You have a 50/50 % of being right, but, if you are wrong, you have gambled away your eternity....

I'm not laughing Jay. I just don't think your interpretation is correct and I think you will never open your mind to any other interpretation.

Jay8h: Yes or no answer.

Do you subscribe to the entire list of behaviors, both required and proscribed, in Leviticus, each and every last one? Do you keep a kosher kitchen? Do you make burnt offerings to God? Do you consume blood products in your meat? How about shrimp? Do you shave?

Because either you follow scrupulously the "literal word of God", or you're cherry-picking which of "God's Laws" you want to follow (and require everyone else to) while crying Deus vult.

I'm sure Jesus said something about hypocrisy somewhere. I think he also said something about the faithful who parade their religiosity publicly, making a grand show of their piousness but are like ...

I think the Bible was written in Aramaic (the language Jesus spoke & preached in) before being translated into Greek, then Latin, and THEN into English and other vernaculars.

I think you don't read Aramaic, and I'll bet you don't read Greek. I'll go as far as to say I'm guessing you don't read medieval Latin.

So at best you're offering a 3rd hand translation of the original text as "what god actually said and meant".

I would like to contest that claim.

"I believe that the Bible is the literal word of God." And I say no, it's not, Dad. "Well, I believe that it is." So I say. No, it's not and I can prove it to you, read the front cover what does it say? "Holy Bible" And underneath that? "King James Version"
