As I perceive it, a majority of the people who want government and politics to be influenced by religion are the same people that are proponents of individualism and choice in the "private sector". As I perceive it, a majority of the people who want government and politics to be influenced by religion are the same people that are proponents of individualism and choice in the "private sector". Yet going to a temple, mosque or church for worship is one of the most individual choices one can make in life. What could be more independent than making the additional sacrifices in time or money to homeschool one's children or send them to a aprochial school to ensure their spiritual education? Is it not the people who support religious instruction in public schools who are leaning on the government for something that should be an individual responsibility?
