Listen to Democracy Now report on the RNC convention. Goodman was arrested, along with other reporters, despite their credentials. Some protestors were preemptively arrested and cited with conspiracy to commit terrorism (coercive force) under the PATRIOT ACT--the first arrests ever using that act! Ron Paul's delegates were shaken down by the Secret Service!

You know, as someone who works about a mile from the Xcel center (my husband works about 5 blocks away from it), I was scared. There were people being beaten and pepper-sprayed everywhere by police. We ended up (wisely) skipping a Labor Day concert in a park near the RNC and it is a good thing. Some people who went were arrested for seemingly no reason.

So do you still believe you have free speech in the USA?
Wait till they bring more troops home..... my bet is they'll use them against the PEOPLE of the USA....

There hasn't been free speech in America for a long time. The Patriot Act took away so many of our rights all in the name of "protecting us". I blame all the lawmakers in DC who didn't even bother to read the Act before passing it.

She sums it up quite well and gives good examples.
