I doubt that any system of belief can be established from the view point that you should,
... not to commit to any belief about our existence that cannot be proven beyond doubt.
because, at least I believe, there will always be some level of doubt about the universe. Always. It is not a matter of learning more and improving our understanding (this will of course improve the picture from which we can construct our beliefs) but is a fundamental property of the universe and ourselves in that universe. There will always be something unknown around which we must construct a faith.

Thanks wildcat.
It makes me happy to spread joy.

Happy reading.

kmcolo,
Taken to its extremes, maybe such a statement could result in some kind of absolute relativism, nihilism or solipsism.
But as a guideline, an ideal, ... it's something that's worth to strive for, in my opinion.

Well we do know that people have a tendency to take very good rough guidelines as concrete fact (can you say bible literalists ) but I agree with you, being skeptical (this is different than being destructively critical) is always good.

I really need to use the preview button. OK, I'll concede the 1000 word pop limit for an edit button on comments...

Well, what can I say?
The information provided is an interesting opinion.
One that makes us think but has no grounds or evidence. I know that it sounds right but the real reasons, or my opinion, is creation and not evolution. Even Darwin wasn't so sure but submitted it to the world. What was meant as an opinion now seems fact. But now scientists are even finding EVIDENCE that we were created because nothing so intricate could be made in a boom or an adaptation. Yes, some animals have adapted to surroundings including ourselves. But are we still evolving? When will it end?
Even The Grand Canyon with it's sealife at the top of those beautiful cliffs can be explained. Why are humans th...
