it is entirely possible. i have been doing some "work" on that matter myself. think of there being multiple universes (think bubbles) and that the points are there they intersect you have a black hole. imagine that they oscillate at slightly different frequencies. match the frequency and you "pass" through??

it may also become possible to create mini black holes here on earth. think a small object say a 5 cent piece with each side having opposite polarity +/- spin the object up to the speed of light or just beyond using super magnetic field (apparently there is such a device being built in Holland as I write) imagine then that the front of the coin "catches up" with the back "fusing" the opposite polarities..do we then achieve nuclear fusion!! and at the same time create a mini black hole which is spinning now so fast that light particles are dragged into it...how much energy would be released??? do we have the power source of the future and a way to "move" to other universes??

The REAL Napster
Um no. You have the end of the planet. An uncontained fusion reaction will eat everything since a fusion reaction can theoretically use anything for fuel. (This is not the same as a fission, reaction, if I remember correctly) More on that here.

Problem with that is maintaining temperature. Plasma cools down dramatically in seconds, you would need great pressure (such as powerful magnetic fields or gravity fields) to maintain the process. Once that dissipates the reaction can not be maintain as the expanding plasma looses cohesion and bleeds heat at an enormous rate. It would be devastating to anything caught within the explosive blast (heat expands creative a pressure shock wave, that is what explosions are all about), but nothing like a fusion device.

Let me try and correct all three of you. The fusion reaction should irreversibly conduct a series of chain reactions relating to the scientific removal of the underlying portal, which was formed instantaneously previously while the interplanar (if you will) anti-matter molecules were fusing with their physical counterparts, and this in turn required the convection of multitude lymph nodes that were used to form the "joint" between two theoretical black holes; and if these structures were to stand under the gravitational pressure and allow one to "pass through", as you say, then the object "passing through" would actually go in reverse and end up another dimension (e.g. the past), instead of...

In conclusion, I would like to point out that since "The REAL Napster" is the only one that called my BS out, his previous explanation/argument regarding fusion and stuff must hold true and the others are wrong, because he probably knows what he's talking about.

And Deepti, don't beat yourself over the head for not understanding, because my response was not made to be understood by anyone.

Oh, and Mr. Bartender, three lagers for my buddies here.

Cheers.

Well I knew that at best (its VERY BEST) it was apple and oranges, but I did not see the need to humor you.

Gulp. Mmm beer... ; ) Thanks mate!

@ratilfar:

"The fusion reaction can sustain itself if enough of the energy produced goes into keeping the fuel hot."

This is from that fusion link I posted above and it was my main concern regarding an uncontrolled reaction.

Uncontrolled as in no viable confinement and self sustaining as in enough residual heat to keep growing. It is possible, unfortunately. ; (

The key is "self sustaining" which is the real hard part.
