Can Bush's Cabal choose NOT to leave office, if another terror strike occurred? Can Bush in any way, shape or form, refuse to step down in 2008?? Does anyone know?

If the Democrats cant or wont do the right thing. Then it will be up to the people to revolt. And I am hoping they will have support from the military that has been abused by this regime.

I've never heard about camps being built. Do you have more info on that? That's the single scariest thing I've heard in 7 years of this horrible presidency, and would definitely change my stance on things a LOT.

The REAL Napster
U.S. Presidents can only serve TWO terms. Article 22 of the U.S. constitution was ratified for that purpose.

George Washington, the first president, set an unofficial term limit of two terms, which was generally followed by subsequent presidents as precedent. After the twelve-year presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was elected four times, but died before finishing his fourth term, the Twenty-second Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, barring presidents from being elected more than twice, or once if they served more than half of another president's term. Prior to Roosevelt, several presidents had campai...

Here's another article about the detention camps:

Homeland Security Contracts for Vast New Detention Camps

Or just google "Halliburton detention camps" and you'll see. The worrisome thing about this is, that they say the camps are for massive immigration influxes (?) etc, but also for BushCo's *new programs*. Now THAT sounds ominous to me. (Have you really never heard of these camps?) Some fear the camps are for the widespread round up of political dissenters and people of Muslim or Arab origin in the event of another 911. Anyway, whatever they are for, I don't like it.

may limit it.

The author of this article references past presidencies that historians view as "great," when at the time, they were heavily criticized. I fear this may may end up being true of the current presidency.

Nevertheless, Rossiter, and other students of constitutional dictatorships, do not rule out the idea that one could ever exist in America. Indeed, they raised questions in the aftermath of World War II that are still relevant today as we find ourselves in an undeclared war, and the first stages of emergency government.

Terrorism Could Indeed Result In A Constitutional Dictatorship
Doesn't that mean that he can stay despite article 22? Napster? Ugh, say it isn't so...again!

If the politicians won't act, we must. Keep signing petitions and keep emailing your representatives. I know mine must be sick of me, but I keep reminding them that we are watching them closely and will consider their actions/or lack thereof when we enter the voting booths.

So, what are the impeachable offenses! Typical, irrational liberal. Running around crying impeach him, but giving no reason for the impeachable offenses.

Insofar as The Deciding Dictator goes, the key to this is wrapped up inside The Patriot Act II, as I recall. The law, if I remember correctly, affords him the power to declare martial law in case of national emergency, and to directly command the national guard.

It seems that all he needs is another (staged) terror attack on US soil to declare a national emergency just before the elections to suspend them.

I'll say it just for your pleasure, mklosinski... IMPEACH!!!! Perhaps while we are busy with the serious matters of the day, you'll have a chance to do the research on how to find a clue.

Omg, that is NOT what I was hoping to hear BBear. Oh no. Not good. What a terrifying possibility. Put that together with the politicians who have been having gut feelings about some sort of "unfortunate events" happening between now and the elections, Bush and Cheney's overall track record, the detention camps, PNAC and.... well I just thank my lucky stars that I'm not the paranoid type or all this could worry me! *LOL* Not funny though, not funny at all. The thought is truly frightening. Ugh.

There are two links to the "gut feelings" in the comment ladder in the clip below. I hope it's *just* scare tactics and not anything more foreboding. Still scary though:

I do believe, with THE worst approval rating he's ever had, that even Bush himself along with the Senate and Congress wouldn't go for a "third term" even if al Qaeda was landing boats on Ellis Island. GHWB already has his bags packed people. He can't wait to vacate the White House and leave this mess for the Democrats to TRY to clean up. Everyone loses in 2008.
